Get an exclusive sneak peek at the first trailer for Jan-Eric Mack's upcoming film, A Happy Family, set to premiere at the prestigious Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. This marks the first time a Swiss production will compete in the festival's main competition section. The film, handled by Bendita Film Sales for world sales and DCM Film Distribution for its Swiss release in January 2027, tells the story of Niki, a struggling mother whose life is turned upside down after a fire separates her from her children, leading her to take drastic measures to stay connected to them. Starring Anna Schinz, Julia Jentsch, Bettina Stucky, Michael Neuenschwander, and Martina Apostolova, the film is a collaboration between Mack, Schinz, Nikita Afanasjew, and Eva Kienholz, produced by Martin Joss and Peter Reichenbach for C-Films AG Production, with support from various Swiss film organizations. A Happy Family marks Mack's debut feature film following his award-winning short film, Facing Mecca.
