Threes for Trees: Alipay+ and New York Liberty Partner for Sustainable Community Impact

Alipay+ by Ant International has partnered with the New York Liberty for a multi-year collaboration focused on sustainability, youth development, and community empowerment. The joint initiative, named Threes for Trees, aims to plant one tree in New York City for every three-pointer made by the Liberty during home games in the 2026 season. The program was launched at the Barclays Center on May 24 to engage fans and highlight the importance of trees in enhancing the environment. As of June 19, the Liberty have made 91 three-pointers, committing to planting 91 trees in the city.

Leiming Chen, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Ant International, emphasized the impact of sports in uniting communities and driving positive change. The partnership between Alipay+ and the New York Liberty focuses on translating on-court performance into tangible environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outcomes through community engagement and action in New York City. Additional initiatives planned for 2026 include the Liberty Sneaker Drive to donate shoes to underserved communities and the Math Hoops program to help students develop math skills through basketball-themed activities.

The collaboration between Alipay+ and the New York Liberty underscores the belief that technology and community involvement are essential for creating lasting impact. By investing in young people, neighborhoods, and the environment, the partnership aims to foster sustainable growth and empower local communities. Through innovative programs and community-centered initiatives, Alipay+ and the Liberty are committed to making a positive difference in New York City and beyond.
