Bode Miller's Misdemeanor Drug Charges Dismissed in Eastern Idaho

Olympic gold medalist skier Bode Miller faced misdemeanor drug charges in eastern Idaho, but the charges are set to be dismissed. The 48-year-old was arrested in Fremont County for possessing psilocybin mushrooms. Despite probable cause for the arrest, the county prosecutor announced the dismissal of the drug possession and drug paraphernalia charges against Miller. The decision was made in the interest of justice, following new information that emerged related to another active case.

Miller's lawyer confirmed that Miller did not have any drugs on him at the time of the arrest. In a statement on Instagram, Miller explained that he was pulled over for passing a vehicle on a highway and that his friend had a small amount of cannabis and a cannabis pipe without his knowledge. The hope is that the misdemeanor charges will be dropped once all the facts are reviewed.

Fremont County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Hurt's probable cause statement detailed finding Miller with psychedelic mushrooms in a white dispensary bag. Miller, known for his high-risk ski racing style, has had a successful career with six Olympic medals, including a gold medal in the super-combined at the 2010 Vancouver Games. He retired from competitive skiing in 2017 after a series of injuries.

Despite the initial arrest and charges, the prosecutor's office decided to dismiss the misdemeanor drug charges against Bode Miller. The decision was made based on new information that emerged, leading to the conclusion that it was in the interest of justice to drop the charges.
