The Last Kids on Earth" TV Series: Disney's New Apocalyptic Adventure for Kids

Disney is developing a television adaptation of the popular book series "The Last Kids on Earth." The project has been ordered as a pilot, which will determine if a full season will be produced. The show is set to air on Disney+ and Disney Channel, with showrunners Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux leading the team. The series, created by Max Brallier, follows a foster child named Jack Sullivan as he navigates an apocalyptic world filled with zombies and monsters. Jack and his friends must band together to survive and save the world.
"The Last Kids on Earth" book series, aimed at middle school-aged readers, was first published in 2015. The story continues with sequels like "The Last Kids on Earth and the Zombie Parade" and "The Last Kids on Earth and the Doomsday Race." Standalone books, such as "The Last Kids on Earth: Thrilling Tales From the Tree House" and "The Last Kids on Earth: Quint and Dirk's Hero Quest," also expand the series. The adaptation of "The Last Kids on Earth" follows Disney's recent pilot order for an adaptation of the mermaid movie "Aquamarine," featuring Emma Roberts in a guest-starring role as Claire Brown.
