Luke Schenn Signs One-Year Contract with Vancouver Canucks: A Veteran Defenseman Joins the Roster
The Vancouver Canucks have signed Luke Schenn, a veteran defenseman, to a one-year contract worth $2.25 million. Originally from Saskatoon, Schenn has previously played for the Canucks during the 2018-19 season and from 2021-2023. Last season, he split his time between the Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres, tallying one goal and six assists in 50 games. Selected fifth overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2008, Schenn has played in 1,122 games for 10 different teams, scoring 45 goals and contributing 167 assists.
Throughout his career, Luke Schenn has also played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, Arizona Coyotes, Anaheim Ducks, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Nashville Predators. He has achieved success by winning two Stanley Cups with the Lightning in 2020 and 2021.
