Starmus VIII - The Search For Truth: A Celebration of Science, Music, and Art

The Starmus Festival is a unique event that celebrates astronomy, space exploration, music, art, and the natural sciences. The upcoming Starmus VIII - The Search For Truth conference, set to take place in the Canary Islands from October 17-26, will feature performances by Queen's Brian May and prog rock legend Rick Wakeman. Joining May on stage will be Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, soprano Sarah Brightman, the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra, and the Starmus All Stars Band. Wakeman will be performing with Moldovan violinist Rusanda Panfili, with more artists to be announced.

Starmus VIII will also mark the 10th anniversary of the Starmus Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication, previously awarded to luminaries such as May, Hans Zimmer, Jean Michel Jarre, Brian Eno, and Laurie Anderson. Additionally, a new award, the Starmus Jane Goodall Earth Medal, named after the late primatologist and anthropologist, will be introduced at the event. Goodall, who spoke at Starmus in 2025, and Hawking are hailed as influential figures who have shaped our understanding of the world.

Brian May, the co-founder of Starmus along with astronomer/musician Garik Israelian, expressed the significance of honoring the legacies of Jane Goodall and Stephen Hawking at the festival. He emphasized the importance of their contributions to science and humanity. Tickets for Starmus VIII are now available on the festival's website. Don't miss this extraordinary gathering of Nobel laureates, astronauts, scientists, artists, and technology leaders coming together to explore the wonders of the universe and celebrate the achievements of remarkable individuals.
