Congressional Members Gather at Independence Hall to Commemorate America's 250th Birthday

Congressional members will convene at Independence Hall in Philadelphia to commemorate America's 250th birthday on Thursday. This bipartisan gathering will honor the historic moment in 1776 when the Second Continental Congress voted for American independence. The Declaration of Independence was officially adopted two days later. Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-Pa.), representing Philadelphia, played a key role in organizing the event. "It will be a unifying moment for the Congress and our country, at a time when we need it most," Boyle stated. The event is set to commence around 3 p.m. ET.
