Man in Lewiston Faces Charges After Allegedly Shooting Two Individuals in the Face with Pellet Gun

A man in Lewiston allegedly shot two individuals in the face with a pellet gun on Wednesday night. Ahmed Yussuf faces charges of aggravated assault and reckless conduct as per the Lewiston Police Department. The first victim, a 60-year-old man, was shot on Oak Street around 11:04 p.m. Yussuf, in a dark-colored SUV, approached the man and shot him in the face with a high-powered pellet gun after yelling at him. Shortly after, a 34-year-old woman was shot in the face near Walnut and Bartlett streets. Both victims were initially taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston and later transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland for surgery to remove the pellets from their faces. The man is in stable condition, while the woman is in serious condition, according to authorities. Yussuf was arrested and is currently held on $100,000 bail at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
