Ohio State Buckeyes Target Top Defensive Lineman Geraci Carson for 2027 and 2028 Recruiting Classes
The Ohio State Buckeyes have been actively recruiting for the upcoming seasons. Coach Ryan Day and his team are focusing on both the 2027 and 2028 recruiting classes. With three commitments already secured, the Buckeyes are currently ranked first in the nation by Rivals.
One of their recent commitments is four-star defensive lineman Jameer Whyce, indicating Ohio State's emphasis on strengthening the front seven. The team has now set their sights on recruiting another top pass rusher, as defensive lineman Geraci Carson from Jackson, Mississippi, announced receiving a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes.
Carson, who has garnered attention from SEC teams, has visited LSU, Alabama, and Ole Miss. Despite the Tigers being the frontrunners for his commitment, Ohio State's entry into the recruitment battle is not surprising. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 300 pounds, Carson showcased his skills with 35 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and three sacks in his sophomore season at Lanier High School.
Rivals Industry Rankings have recognized Carson as a four-star recruit, ranking him as the No. 9 defensive lineman and the No. 63 player in the nation. With his impressive size and performance on the field, Carson is a coveted prospect for the Buckeyes as they continue to build a strong roster for the future.
