Phillies Pitchers Sánchez and Duran Selected for 2026 NL All-Star Team; Wheeler's Status Uncertain

Cristopher Sánchez and Jhoan Duran have been selected to represent the Phillies on the 2026 National League All-Star team pitching staff. However, co-ace Zack Wheeler will not be part of the initial roster unless changes are made. Sánchez and Wheeler have been standout starting pitchers in the NL this season, with Duran excelling as a relief pitcher.
Sánchez leads the NL with 117 innings pitched through 18 starts and is tied for the league lead in wins above replacement for pitchers with 4.3. He also boasts a 2.00 ERA and 136 strikeouts, making it his second All-Star selection. Sánchez could potentially start the All-Star game if the Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski remains in rotation.
Wheeler, who had a delayed start to the season due to thoracic outlet syndrome, has been impressive with 80 innings pitched in 13 starts and a 2.36 ERA. However, his lack of volume may have impacted his All-Star selection chances. If Wheeler stays on turn, he will be unable to pitch in the game.
Duran has been a dominant force out of the Phillies' bullpen, with 21 saves in 22 chances and a 1.52 ERA. He has also recorded 45 strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings, earning his first All-Star selection. As a reliever, Duran will be able to pitch in the All-Star game.
Sánchez, Duran, and their Phillies teammates Brandon Marsh, Kyle Schwarber, and Bryce Harper will represent the team on the NL All-Star team. Stay updated with our newsletter for more baseball news and updates.
