Placer County Sheriff's Office Closes North Shore Beaches in Lake Tahoe Due to Teenage Drinking and Congestion

Beaches on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in California will be closed by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office due to various issues, such as large groups of teenagers and underage drinking. Lake Forest Beaches, including Skylandia and Bristlecone, will be shut down after 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. The sheriff’s office cited the presence of numerous teenagers, many of whom are not local, congregating at the beaches as the reason for the closures. This has resulted in underage drinking, extensive littering, and significant traffic congestion in nearby neighborhoods. Deputies have been working to disperse the crowds over the past two nights.

It is advised not to visit the area tonight as the beaches will be off-limits, and individuals trying to access them will be denied entry.
