Vehicle Fire Causes Closure of M8 Eastbound Slip Road at Junction 13 in Glasgow

A vehicle fire caused the closure of a section of the M8 in Glasgow in the early hours of Saturday morning. Traffic Scotland announced the closure of the eastbound slip road at Junction 13 (Provan) due to the blaze just after midnight and advised drivers to find alternative routes if possible. Video footage from the scene showed the trailer of a large articulated lorry engulfed in flames, while the cab was parked nearby. Officials provided diversion information to road users as the junction remained shut.
Following the closure, motorists faced disruptions, but the incident was eventually cleared, and the slip road reopened. Traffic Scotland confirmed the reopening of the #M8(E) Junction 13 (Provan) on slip after the vehicle fire. Normal access to the motorway has been restored, and traffic flow has returned to normal.
