Team Sea Sakthi from India to Showcase Sustainable Maritime Technology at Monaco Energy Boat Challenge
India's sustainable maritime technology prowess will be showcased on a global stage as Team Sea Sakthi from Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, gears up to participate in the 13th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. The competition, scheduled from July 8 to 11 in Monaco, will see the Indian team competing against 54 teams from 21 countries. Team Sea Sakthi will present an upgraded electric catamaran with an indigenous electric propulsion system, lightweight bio-based fibre structure, and advanced counter-rotating propulsion system for enhanced energy efficiency and performance.
The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, hosted by the Yacht Club de Monaco, is a prestigious event where engineering students, researchers, and industry leaders collaborate to develop sustainable solutions for the maritime sector. The competition provides a platform for young engineers to test their innovations on water, combining innovation with real-world testing. The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge also includes technology conferences, industry interactions, and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Sustainable Yachting Technology Award, recognizing breakthrough innovations in clean marine mobility. Since its inception in 2014, the competition has engaged over 6,500 students worldwide, leading to the development of commercial applications and startups.
