The Rolling Stones Pay Tribute to Amy Winehouse with Cover of 'You Know I'm No Good' on New Album

The Rolling Stones have paid tribute to the late Amy Winehouse by covering her hit single "You Know I'm No Good" on their upcoming album, Foreign Tongues. The band fondly remembers their performance with Winehouse at the Isle of Wight festival in 2007 and expressed sadness over her untimely death in 2011 at the age of 27. Guitarist Ronnie Wood shared anecdotes about Winehouse's struggles and regrets that she did not have a longer career like Billie Holiday.
Keith Richards also expressed regret at not getting to know Winehouse better after their performance together. The band members are hopeful of touring again in 2027, despite Richards' reservations about committing to another extensive tour. Mick Jagger mentioned that his body is adjusting to not preparing for live shows, as the band is currently in a hiatus from touring.
The Rolling Stones' rendition of "You Know I'm No Good" on Foreign Tongues features Jagger singing from a male perspective, altering the lyrics slightly from Winehouse's original version. The band's last tour was in 2024 to promote Hackney Diamonds, their first album of original material in almost two decades following the passing of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021. The Stones' upcoming album, Foreign Tongues, is set to be released on July 10th.
