Update on Stage Three of the Race: Decision Pending After Wildfire Threatens Route
The decision on whether to proceed with stage three of the race will be made by the end of the day following discussions in the afternoon, according to Pierre Regnault de la Mothe, the top official of the Eastern Pyrenees department. A fire in the area has already burned through approximately 1,500 hectares of land, prompting the deployment of 700 firefighters. The fire is located about 70 kilometers from Les Angles, the finish line for the third stage of the event, which is scheduled to start in Granollers, Spain. The main road providing access to Monday's stage has been closed due to the fire. Regnault de la Mothe stated that all available resources are being utilized to contain the fire.
