Classic Films in Stunning 4K: King Creole and More Coming Soon!
Kino Lorber is set to release the 1958 musical drama "King Creole" starring Elvis Presley on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray Disc on July 28. Directed by Michael Curtiz, the film follows the story of Danny Fisher, a New Orleans teenager with a talent for singing who gets caught up in a dangerous criminal world. The combo pack includes the theatrical cut of the film from a 4K scan of the original 35mm camera negative, with audio options in 5.1 Surround and Lossless 2.0. Bonus features include a new audio commentary by film historian Imogen Sara Smith.
The Blu-ray Disc features the film from the same 2020 HD master with 5.1 Surround and Lossless 2.0 audio. Bonus features include the Imogen Sara Smith commentary, the original theatrical trailer newly restored in 4K, and an interview with critic Leonard Maltin about the film. Panasonic has announced four new Ultra HD Blu-ray players that support Dolby Vision and/or HDR10+. Paramount Home Entertainment will release the 1988 comedy "Scrooged" on 4K Ultra HD with never-before-released special features for its 35th anniversary. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the Marvel Comics-based "Madame Web" on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Jan de Bont's action thriller "Speed" will be available on 4K Ultra HD for the first time, including a limited-edition exclusive Best Buy Steelbook.
