Mike Rowe Sues Discovery Talent Services for Unpaid Fees: Seeking $2.04 Million in Legal Battle

Mike Rowe, known for his narration on Deadliest Catch, is taking legal action against Discovery Talent Services for allegedly failing to pay him millions in fees as per their agreement. Rowe and his production company Lab Rat claim that a 2020 deal set his rate at $40,000 per episode, even for episodes he did not narrate. The lawsuit states that Discovery did not use Rowe for five episodes in season 21 and did not pay him for at least 51 spinoff episodes, as well as 12 longer shows and international versions that Rowe's team believes should be considered original episodes. They are seeking at least $2.04 million in unpaid fees, plus interest.
Discovery had previously stated that they had fulfilled their obligations to Rowe after he sued for streaming residuals last year. However, the company has not yet responded to the new filing. Rowe, who also hosts Dirty Jobs, is requesting a jury trial to resolve the matter.
