Season 2, a collaboration between Prime Video, Stan, and ZDF, has been picked up by various networks and streaming platforms that aired the first season. Among the new buyers are Bell Media in Canada, NBCUniversal LatAm, NPO in the Netherlands, SVT in Sweden, and several others.

Set on a picturesque Greek island, Season 1 followed retired assassin Julie and her son Edward as they navigated a dangerous world filled with secrets and threats. The upcoming season, currently in post-production, continues the story after a tumultuous trip to Berlin that leaves Julie and Edward estranged once again. Julie returns to her assassin ways while Edward faces challenges in his personal life, leading them to confront Spain's corrupt underworld.

The Assassin Season 2 is produced by Two Brothers Pictures for Prime Video, ZDF, and Stan, with Harry and Jack Williams as the creators and writers. The series features an ensemble cast led by Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore, who also serve as executive producers. The show was filmed in Malta, with Lisa Mulcahy, the director of Season 1, recently honored at the Italian Global Series Festival.
