Faith-Based Family Drama 'It's Not Like That' Canceled After First Season on Prime Video

Wonder Project's faith-based family drama, "It's Not Like That," will not be returning for a second season on Prime Video. The series, starring Scott Foley and Erinn Hayes, was released globally on Prime Video and was part of the collaboration between Wonder Project and the streaming service. While the show received positive reviews and seemed to be performing well, it has been canceled after its first season. In contrast, "House of David," another faith-based drama from Wonder Project, will be returning for a third season.

"It's Not Like That" follows the story of Malcolm, a pastor and widowed father of three, and Lori, a newly divorced mother of two, as they navigate single parenthood and their budding relationship. The series ended with Malcolm expressing his feelings for Lori, but the outcome was left uncertain as Lori faced a decision between her new boyfriend and her ex-husband.

The show's cast includes J.R. Ramirez, Caleb Baumann, Cary Christopher, Leven Miranda, Liv Lindell, and Cassidy Paul. The series was created by Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson, who also served as showrunners alongside Garrett Lerner. The show was produced by Amazon MGM Studios and featured an ensemble of executive producers from Wonder Project, 42 & Anonymous Content, and Kingdom Story Company.

Despite its strong reviews and popularity on Prime Video's rankings, "It's Not Like That" will not be returning for a second season. Fans of the show will have to say goodbye to Malcolm and Lori's story as the series comes to an end.
