Rush Reissues: Classic Albums from the '70s and '80s Era Set for Release

Rush is set to release reissues of 11 classic albums from their '70s and '80s era, starting this summer. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab has partnered with the Canadian rock legends for a series of releases. The reissues will include the band's complete Mercury run of studio albums as dedicated standalone audiophile editions. The campaign will kick off with reissues of "Fly by Night" from 1975 and "A Farewell to Kings" from 1977, both available for pre-order on the company's official website.
Mobile Fidelity owner Jim Davis expressed his excitement about working with Rush on these iconic titles, emphasizing the respect they have for the band and their fans. The reissues will be released in chronological order, with the self-titled 1974 debut album also set to arrive this fall. The mastering engineer, Rob LoVerde, described the meticulous process of reviewing materials for the albums as a "forensic expedition" to ensure the best possible listening experience for fans.
Longtime Rush associate Andy Curran, representing the band and Anthem Records, delivered the original master tapes for the initial releases to Mobile Fidelity's mastering studio. The upcoming releases will cover Rush's first decade of work from 1974 through 1985, available as hybrid SACDs and vinyl, including UltraDisc One-Step formats and double LP sets. The remaining titles will be released in 2027 and 2028, completing the reissue series.
Rush has been on their Fifty Something reunion tour, receiving rave reviews for their performances. Despite Geddy Lee's health issues, the band has continued the tour with additional touring members and is set to resume in July. The reissues and the tour mark a significant moment for Rush fans, as the band's legacy continues to be celebrated and honored.
