O'Hearn hit a grand slam in the first inning, followed by a three-run homer in the third, and another three-run shot in the sixth. This outstanding achievement set a new club record, surpassing the previous mark of nine RBIs set in 1939. O'Hearn's 10 RBIs also stood as the highest in the majors this year. As an All-Star last season, O'Hearn joined a select group of players in Pittsburgh's long history by hitting three homers in a single game.
