BritBox has announced the main cast for the upcoming drama series, The Cadburys, based on Deborah Cadbury's book, Chocolate Wars. The show will feature Harry Gilby as George Cadbury, Toby Regbo as Richard Cadbury, Jessica Barden as Maria Cadbury, Pearce Quigley as John Cadbury, Ben Hardy as Francis Fry, Joanna Scanlan, and Poppy Gilbert as Elizabeth Adlington. Production is currently taking place in Birmingham, with Freddie Highmore serving as an executive producer.

The Cadburys, previously known as Chocolate Wars, is a family drama that follows the Cadbury family's journey to create their iconic chocolate bar. Set in 1860s Birmingham, the series focuses on brothers Richard and George Cadbury as they strive to transform their struggling cocoa business into a renowned confectionery company. Maria Cadbury, their sister, faces her own challenges within the family and business, especially when she falls in love with their rival, Francis Fry. The show explores themes of family bonds, ambition, and love in a historical setting.

In addition to the main cast, The Cadburys features Felicity Montagu, Mathew Baynton, Adam Hashmi, William Singh, Oli Green, Alexander Butler, Leah Swain-Heath, Maisie Britton, and Emma Montrochet.
