U2 Announces New Album Release: Street Of Dreams Single Unveiled

Irish rock band U2 is set to release their first studio album of new material in nearly a decade, accompanied by a new single titled Street Of Dreams. The album, which is yet to be named, is scheduled for release later this year. The band unveiled Street Of Dreams on Tuesday, along with a music video shot in Mexico City during their attendance at the 2026 Street Child World Cup Finals Tournament at Parque Ecologico Lago Ae Texcoco. In the video, U2, led by Bono, along with guitarist The Edge, bass player Adam Clayton, and drummer Larry Mullen Jr, are seen performing for fans in the city, with scenes filmed near Plaza Santo Domingo amidst thunder and rain, which led to a generator failure. The band was welcomed into a local family's apartment to continue filming on the balcony.
The single, released under Island Records and produced by Jacknife Lee, marks the band's 50th anniversary in 2026. The music video for Street Of Dreams showcases U2 performing on top of a graffiti-covered bus to an enthusiastic crowd in the streets of Mexico City, reminiscent of their 1987 hit Where The Streets Have No Name. U2, formed in 1976, has achieved seven UK number one singles and 11 number one albums. Their upcoming album will follow their 2023 release Songs Of Surrender, where they re-recorded several old songs from their career, and the 2017 album Songs Of Experience, a sequel to 2014's Songs Of Innocence, which gained attention for being automatically added to iPhone libraries upon its release.
Originating from Dublin, U2 is renowned for hits like Sunday Bloody Sunday, Beautiful Day, and Vertigo. The band's new album and single mark a significant milestone in their musical journey, promising fans a fresh collection of songs after a long hiatus. Stay tuned for more updates on U2's upcoming album release and their musical endeavors.
