Brian Molko of Placebo: Embracing Risk and Pushing Boundaries in Art

Brian Molko, the frontman of Placebo, shared a valuable piece of advice he received from David Bowie during an interview with John Kennedy from Radio X. Bowie would always ask artists if they were comfortable with what they were doing, and if they answered yes, he would tell them they needed to step out of their comfort zone. Molko emphasized the importance of taking risks in art and how Placebo thrived on pushing boundaries, even from their early days.
When asked by a listener who he would choose to play him in a Placebo biopic, Molko mentioned his admiration for filmmaker Jim Jarmusch and expressed that Yungblud would be a suitable candidate to portray him, despite potential challenges with his accent. He humorously mentioned that his previous choice for the role used to be Audrey Hepburn.
Placebo is gearing up to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album with a UK and European arena tour. The band will perform tracks from their first two albums, including songs that have not been part of their live sets for over two decades. The tour dates span across various cities in Portugal, Spain, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, and France, culminating in the UK and Ireland.
Fans can secure tickets for the upcoming tour through the official website.
