Fathom Entertainment Appoints Jason Brenek as CEO, Announces Strategic Expansion and Upcoming Film Releases

Fathom Entertainment has appointed Jason Brenek as its new Chief Executive Officer, taking over from Ray Nutt, who is retiring. Brenek has extensive experience in theatrical distribution, cinema technology, and content production, having previously founded MetaMedia, a cloud-based platform for delivering movies to cinemas. He also held senior positions at IMAX Corporation and The Walt Disney Company. Fathom Entertainment, owned by AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc., Cinemark Holdings, Inc., and Regal Cineworld Group, is transitioning to Fathom Entertainment to expand its specialty theatrical distribution services. The company will release LAIKA’s stop-motion feature film "Wildwood" in theatres nationwide on October 23, marking a new phase of programming. AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. recently completed a registered direct offering of common stock, raising approximately $200 million in gross proceeds. The company plans to use the funds to redeem its Senior Subordinated Notes due 2027. AMC also reported record-high admissions, food, and beverage revenues during its busiest weekend of 2026 at U.S. locations. Additionally, Amcor has partnered with Kelpi to explore seaweed-based coating technologies for fiber packaging materials, showcasing innovative packaging solutions.
