Michael J. Fox Earns 18th Emmy Nomination for Guest Role on Apple TV's Shrinking

Michael J. Fox has returned to the screen with a guest role on Apple TV's Shrinking, earning him his 18th career acting Emmy nomination in the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category. After a five-year hiatus from acting following his announcement of a "second retirement" due to the progression of his Parkinson's disease, Fox took on the role of Gerry, a character created specifically for him by Shrinking co-creator Bill Lawrence. In the series, Fox's character befriends Paul Rhoades, played by Harrison Ford, who also received a nomination for Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role on the show. This nomination is Fox's first since 2016, when he was recognized for his work on The Good Wife. Throughout his career, Fox has won five Emmys, three for Family Ties, one for Boston Legal, and one for Rescue Me.
