The Tick Returns: Stream the Beloved Superhero Satire on Netflix

Fans of The Tick can now enjoy streaming the beloved superhero satire on Netflix once again. Originally adapted from Ben Edlund’s comic book series, the live-action sitcom first aired on Fox in 2001. The 2001 series, led by Patrick Warburton, is now available for streaming on Netflix starting July 8, 2026, after its license expired in 2015. The show follows the crime-fighting superhero, the Tick, and his underachieving sidekick as they battle evildoers.

In addition to Patrick Warburton, the series also features David Burke as Arthur, Liz Vassey as Captain Liberty, and Nestor Carbonell as Batmanuel. The show garnered a dedicated fan base but faced tough competition from other popular shows during its original run on Fox. Despite its cancellation after airing only eight of its nine produced episodes in 2002, The Tick received critical acclaim with an 88% Tomatometer and a 90% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Due to strong fan demand, Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment released a DVD set containing the complete series. Although the DVDs were discontinued or out of print by 2013, Mill Creek Entertainment reissued the series in 2014. Ben Edlund, the creator of The Tick comic book series, also served as an executive producer on the show alongside other notable producers. The show's return to Netflix is sure to delight both longtime fans and new viewers alike.
