Toronto Musicians Shine on 2026 Polaris Music Prize Shortlist

Toronto musicians are well represented on the 2026 Polaris Music Prize shortlist, with three artists from the city making the cut. Peaches, Charlotte Cornfield, and Rochelle Jordan are among the 10 artists vying for the prestigious award. The Polaris Music Prize is awarded to the best Canadian album solely based on artistic merit, with the winner receiving a cash prize of $30,000. The announcement of the shortlisted artists was made recently, and the winner will be unveiled at a special event at Massey Hall on Sept. 22, where many of the nominees will also perform.
