Tragic Consequences: 20-Year-Old Sentenced to 10 Years for Fatal Crash in Oldbury

A 20-year-old man from Lye has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for causing the death of his friend in a crash in Oldbury. Corey Brown was driving a blue Ford Fiesta with two friends as passengers when he drove dangerously, overtaking vehicles and speeding. The car lost control, hit parked vehicles and a lamppost, resulting in the death of Kristian Danielov, aged 21, who was in the rear passenger seat. Another passenger was also seriously injured. Brown, who was disqualified from driving and driving a stolen vehicle, fled the scene but was later arrested and charged with multiple offenses. He admitted the charges and received his sentence at Wolverhampton Crown Court. Kristian's family paid tribute to him, describing him as a vibrant and loving individual whose life was cut short by the reckless actions of a friend. Detective Sergeant Richard Evans emphasized the tragic consequences of dangerous driving on young lives.
