Kacey Musgraves Pays Tribute to Dolly Parton and Announces Middle of Nowhere Tour

Kacey Musgraves recently paid tribute to Dolly Parton during her Star-Crossed: Unveiled Tour in 2022. The country singer surprised fans by performing a cover of Dolly Parton's classic song "9 to 5" at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Musgraves, dressed in a jumpsuit and bare feet, delivered a captivating rendition of the hit, prompting the audience to sing along enthusiastically.

Following the success of her latest album, Middle of Nowhere, Musgraves is gearing up for the Middle of Nowhere Tour, which will kick off in Chicago and travel across North America, including stops in New York, Nashville, Austin, and Los Angeles. The tour will conclude with back-to-back concerts in Seattle in October.

Meanwhile, Dolly Parton has been busy with the opening of Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop and the upcoming Broadway debut of her musical, Dolly: A True Original Musical. The show, set to premiere at the St. James Theatre, will begin previews on Dec. 7 and officially open on Jan. 19, coinciding with Parton's 81st birthday. Director Bartlett Sher expressed excitement about bringing Dolly's unfiltered story to the Broadway stage, highlighting the deep connection audiences have with the iconic singer.
