Renewed Appeal for Information: Unsolved Murder of Antoinette Smith at Slane Castle

A young mother named Antoinette Smith was tragically murdered after attending a David Bowie concert at Slane Castle 39 years ago. She went missing after the concert in Co Meath on July 11, 1987, and her remains were discovered nine months later on Glendoo Mountain in Co Wicklow. Antoinette and a friend returned to Dublin after the concert and went to a discotheque where they met two men they knew. After leaving the club, Antoinette and the two men walked to a taxi rank on O’Connell Street. The men took a taxi to Ballymun, while Antoinette continued walking towards O’Connell Street Bridge. She was reported missing by her husband, leaving behind two young children, Lisa and Rachel, aged seven and four at the time.

On the anniversary of Antoinette Smith's disappearance, Gardaí at Bray Garda Station are renewing their appeal for information from the public. They are urging anyone who may have details about the case to come forward, emphasizing that relationships and connections from decades ago could now be different. Gardaí are committed to handling any information provided with sensitivity and are hopeful that new leads will help in solving the case.
