UNDP and TAILG Partner to Establish Green Mobility Centre of Excellence in Kenya

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and TAILG, a prominent electric mobility company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Kenya to establish the Green Mobility Centre of Excellence (GM-CoE). This partnership aims to implement green, low-carbon mobility projects through technological innovation, ecosystem development, and industry incubation to support regional sustainable development goals.
The MOU sets the framework for long-term cooperation between UNDP and TAILG, focusing on the joint establishment, operation, and large-scale development of the GM-CoE to drive Africa's green and low-carbon mobility industry growth. TAILG will play a significant role in project operations, governance, innovation system establishment, ecosystem projects, and international technical exchanges to create a sustainable platform for green technology innovation in Africa.
As a green mobility partner of UNDP, TAILG operates globally with seven R&D and manufacturing bases, producing over 15 million units annually. With products available in more than 70 countries and regions, TAILG's industrial capabilities provide a solid foundation for implementing green projects worldwide, including in Africa.
Michael Yao, President of TAILG, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership with UNDP in advancing green mobility initiatives. TAILG plans to leverage its new energy two-wheeler technologies to collaborate on green mobility, gasoline-to-electric conversion, and carbon reduction projects in Africa. Through technological innovation and concrete actions, TAILG aims to contribute to global sustainable development and promote the region's green economy.
Looking ahead, TAILG will continue its collaboration with UN agencies and partners to drive the development of green electric mobility, supporting regional green growth and global carbon reduction goals. This partnership underscores the commitment to advancing sustainable development and environmental protection through innovative green mobility solutions.
