From Peninsula High to UCLA: Hall Schmidt's Journey to the Bruins' Offensive Line

The UCLA Bruins roster for the 2026 season features Hall Schmidt as the starting right tackle. Schmidt had a successful high school career at Peninsula High School, where he was a key player for the football team. Despite being a standout player in high school, Schmidt was only considered a three-star recruit and received offers from smaller programs. He ultimately committed to Boise State, where he redshirted his first year and had limited playing time in his second year. However, in his third year with the Broncos, Schmidt earned a starting role at right tackle and contributed to the team's success, particularly in helping running back Ashton Jeanty have a standout season. Schmidt's fourth season at Boise State was marred by an injury that sidelined him for most of the year. Following that season, Schmidt transferred to UCLA, where he is expected to play a crucial role in rebuilding the offensive line for the upcoming season.
