SkyDrive Inc. Showcases Future of Urban Transportation with Successful eVTOL Demonstration Flight

SkyDrive Inc., a prominent eVTOL aircraft developer in Japan, recently completed a successful demonstration flight of its SKYDRIVE eVTOL aircraft (SkyDrive Model SD-05) at the Yamaguchi Kirara Expo Memorial Park. The flight, which showcased the aircraft's capabilities, was observed by notable figures such as the Governor of Yamaguchi, the Vice Chair of the Yamaguchi Assembly, and the President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, SkyDrive's production partner. The demonstration simulated a scenic touring flight over the Seto Inland Sea, highlighting the potential use of eVTOL for tourist flights.

The demonstration flight, conducted without passengers or crew, demonstrated the operational flows that SkyDrive plans to implement for tourist flights once the aircraft is in service. The simulation included a seamless passenger journey from arrival at the vertiport (takeoff and landing facility) to the eVTOL flight, showcasing the future passenger experience. SkyDrive aims to establish eVTOLs as a viable option for intra-urban transportation and integrate them into city life, leading the mobility revolution of the century.

SkyDrive has conducted over 300 test flights of its prototype aircraft in various environments, including test sites in Toyota City and Yamaguchi City, as well as at Expo 2025 Osaka, Osaka Port, and Tokyo Big Sight. The successful demonstration flight at the Yamaguchi Kirara Expo Memorial Park further solidifies SkyDrive's commitment to advancing eVTOL technology and revolutionizing urban transportation.
