Fatal Altercation at Baltimore's Inner Harbor: Parkville Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder

A man from Parkville has been taken into custody following an incident at Baltimore's Inner Harbor that resulted in another man's death. The Baltimore Police Department reported that James Fitzsimmons, 36, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of James Britt, 37, from Baltimore. The altercation took place on August 2 around 3:10 p.m. in the 1300 block of Lancaster Street, where Britt was pulled from the water and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Detectives revealed that Fitzsimmons and Britt were engaged in a physical confrontation, leading to Fitzsimmons pushing Britt into the water as he was trying to retreat.
Fitzsimmons was apprehended and taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility following the incident.
