Despite enjoying working with Florence Pugh, Holland's off-camera preparation for the scene left him feeling uncomfortable. He tried a dehydration routine the day before filming, hoping it would enhance his performance, but it only made him grumpy. Holland admitted that the sacrifice was not worth it and that it did not make a significant difference in the end. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon were not present on set that day, which Holland considered a fortunate circumstance given the nature of the scene.
