A 27-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly running an online ticket scam targeting fans of the popular South Korean boy band BTS. The suspect, identified as Shai, is facing charges of estafa under the Cybercrime Prevention Act following an entrapment operation in San Lazaro, Manila on July 22. Shai was apprehended after a victim reported being deceived by her.

The victim claimed that she purchased a concert ticket from Shai for P14,200, only to find out that the same ticket had been sold to another buyer. It was revealed that multiple individuals fell victim to the scam, with five more people reportedly purchasing BTS concert tickets with identical seat numbers from the suspect.

Authorities, including the Anti-Cybercrime Group director Maj. Gen. Wilson Asueta, have advised the public to exercise caution when buying concert tickets online.
