Controversial Anti-Feminist Leader Bae In-gyu Found Dead: Investigation Underway
The leader of the anti-feminist group New Men's Solidarity, Bae In-gyu, was discovered dead after falling from his residence in Incheon, where he lived with his girlfriend. Police responded to a call reporting a collapsed individual and found Bae without a suicide note. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and have ruled out foul play based on CCTV footage. An autopsy request is pending to determine the cause of death.
Bae was previously involved in the occupation of the Seoul Western District Court on January 19 and was under investigation for allegedly distributing methamphetamine at an Incheon motel in May of the previous year. He admitted to the drug charges after testing positive and was handed over to the prosecution. In 2018, Bae was fined for assaulting his ex-wife, Song Si-in, with whom he had a son.
Described as "South Korea's answer to Andrew Tate" by The Guardian, Bae was known for his strong anti-feminist views, referring to feminism as a "mental illness" and a "social evil." He recently removed his videos due to new false information laws but resumed his political activities by posting more content. The circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the cause of his fall.
