Edmonton Football Fans Donate $52,448 to Edmonton’s Food Bank During Purolator Tackle Hunger Game Day Food Drive
Football fans in Edmonton showed their generosity by donating $52,448 to Edmonton’s Food Bank during the Purolator Tackle Hunger game day food drive at the Edmonton Elks game. The event, which took place during the game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, saw volunteers collecting both non-perishable food items and monetary donations from fans. Tamisan Bencz-Knight of Edmonton’s Food Bank expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received from Edmontonians, Elks’ players, and the Purolator team, emphasizing the importance of their contributions in helping those in need.
The Purolator Tackle Hunger program, which began in 2003, has been instrumental in providing more than 27 million meals to Canadian food banks. Edmonton’s Food Bank, a beneficiary of this initiative, continues to accept donations throughout the year via its website.
