Isaac Oliveira Scott, a 29-year-old resident of Victoria, has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges following his extradition from Germany earlier this year. The charges included trafficking a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance, and three firearms-related offenses. The case stemmed from a four-year investigation by the RCMP Federal Policing Pacific Region (FPPR) into an interprovincial dark web distribution network that used cryptocurrency to sell and distribute drugs across Canada via Canada Post.
The investigation, which began in December 2022, led to Scott's arrest in February 2024 during a search warrant execution at a residence in the Lower Mainland. Despite being released pending further investigation, Scott fled Canada in May 2025 before charges were laid. However, he was apprehended by German authorities in February of the following year after a Canada-wide warrant and Interpol Red Notice were issued. The search warrant in the Lower Mainland resulted in the seizure of stolen firearms, ammunition, fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, fraudulent identification documents, and Canadian currency.
