Twist on Taylor Headlines Downtown Concord's Music & Market Series at Todos Santos Plaza
Downtown Concord's Todos Santos Plaza will transform into a Taylor Swift dance party with the tribute act Twist on Taylor headlining the Music & Market series tomorrow. The event kicks off with a farmers market at 4 PM, followed by the concert at 6:30 PM, all part of the free summer program presented by Pacific Service Credit Union. Twist on Taylor, led by singer Sara Jessica Rhodes, covers Swift's music from her country roots to her pop era with full-band instrumentation, choreography, and era-specific costumes.
The Music & Market series, now in its 37th annual season, runs for 17 consecutive Thursday evenings from June 4 to September 24. The event pairs an afternoon farmers market with an evening concert, a tradition that dates back to the first Concord Summer Music Festival in August 1969. Todos Santos Plaza, dedicated in 1868 as a public square, is a Concord historical landmark and serves as the civic core of the city, which has grown to become the most populous in Contra Costa County.
The lineup for the Music & Market series has featured various acts, including Andre Thierry, Dead & Breakfast, Neon Velvet, Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, Funk Shui Band, Super Diamond, Zepperella, Green-182, Court n' Disaster, and more. Upcoming performances include Carlos Reyes, The 3 Queens of Motown, Aja Vu, Strange Daze, Steve Snyder's Big Band, Sacred Fire Band, and House of Floyd, among others. The series is made possible by the support of Pacific Service Credit Union and other sponsors.
The farmers market accompanying the Music & Market series is managed by the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association, a non-profit organization that supports California family farms. The Concord market participates in California's Market Match program, allowing CalFresh and EBT cardholders to double their produce budget. Additional sponsors for the event include Ashby Lumber, Mt.
