Weezer's New Single 'C.E.O.' and The Gold Album: A Playful Homage with Star-Studded Cast

Weezer has released a new single titled "C.E.O." and the accompanying music video features a star-studded cast including Tony Hawk, Curry Barker, Dax Flame, Chit, Rob Riggle, Rob Huebel, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The video pays homage to their classic 1994 video for "Undone (The Sweater Song)" and showcases the band's playful side.

In the video, Huebel and Riggle portray stereotypical CEOs watching Weezer shoot a music video in front of a gold backdrop. Frontman Rivers Cuomo expresses frustration about being stuck in the past and the band eventually quits when bees are released onto the set. The track itself reflects on the band's nostalgia for their earlier music and the pressure to deliver more of the same.

The upcoming album, Weezer, also known as The Gold Album, was co-produced by Kenny Blume and Klas Åhlund. The band has already released two tracks, "Shine Again" and "We Might as Well be Strangers," showcasing a mix of new and classic Weezer sounds. Bassist Scott Shriner praised Blume's influence on the record, describing him as a forceful presence with a deep appreciation for Weezer's music.

Weezer has announced additional dates for their Weezer: The Gathering tour, which will kick off in September in Sacramento and continue across North America through late October. The band will then head to Japan in February 2027 and Europe in May and June. The tour will feature opening acts such as The Shins, Silversun Pickups, and Taking Back Sunday, catering to fans across different regions.

Fans can look forward to purchasing tickets for the U.K. and Europe shows starting on August 12, with Japan tickets available from September 5. Weezer Fan Club members will have early access to tickets on August 11, ensuring that dedicated fans can secure their spots for the highly anticipated tour.
