Southwest Airlines is ending its "bags fly free" policy after more than 50 years. Starting tomorrow, passengers will have to pay $35 for the first checked bag and $45 for the second. The new policy applies to flights booked on May 28 or later, with exceptions for certain customers who will still receive free checked bags. Southwest made this change to improve its financial performance, following the decision to start selling assigned seats last year.
