Al Roker, the weatherman for TODAY, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 46th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards in New York City for his distinguished career in broadcast journalism. Al expressed his gratitude and humility upon hearing the news, acknowledging the support of his colleagues throughout his nearly half-century career at NBC. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences also announced that Al's wife, ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts, will be inducted into the Silver Circle Honor Society for her contributions to the television industry. Al has previously been recognized with awards such as the Sol Taishoff Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism and induction into the Broadcast + Cable Hall of Fame.
