An Air India flight returned to Hong Kong shortly after takeoff due to a midair technical issue, just days after another Air India flight crashed in India, killing at least 270 people. The plane that turned around was a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, similar to the one involved in the crash. The flight landed safely back in Hong Kong and was undergoing precautionary checks. Indian authorities have ordered additional safety checks on all Air India Boeing 787s, but no grounding has been suggested. Alternative arrangements were made for affected passengers to reach their destination.
