Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn Jr., the late husband of Loretta Lynn, will be honored for his military service during World War II in a ceremony in Washington, D.C. Lynn's team shared photos of Doolittle as a young man and with his wife, and mentioned that Lynn's granddaughter Beth will attend the WWII Ranger Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony. Doolittle, a WWII Ranger in E Company, 5th Ranger Battalion, will be among the soldiers recognized at the event. Loretta Lynn often expressed pride in her husband's service and shared a photo of him in uniform on Veteran's Day in 2020. The Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony will take place on Thursday at the Capitol Visitor Center, honoring United States Army Rangers Veterans of World War II.
