A recent study found that climate change tripled the number of heat-related deaths in European cities during recent heatwaves. The searing temperatures were up to 4C hotter due to global warming caused by human activities. The study estimated that around 65% of the deaths in 12 cities were linked to climate change. Researchers warned that heatwaves are quietly devastating and highlighted the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to prevent more deaths in the future.
