A man who helped recover Malcolm-Jamal Warner from a Costa Rica ocean has spoken out about the incident. He heard calls for help and rushed into the sea with his surfboard to rescue Warner. Warner was unable to be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have clarified that Warner's daughter was on the beach when he entered the water with a friend, not swimming with him. Warner's cause of death was ruled as asphyxia, and the man who was found on the beach with him has since been released from the hospital. Warner's body has been released to his family.
